Wanda Lee Heine, 71, passed away Oct. 21, 2023, at University of Kansas Health System - Great Bend Campus, Great Bend, Kan. She was born March 21, 1952, in Great Bend, to Ernest and Dorothy (Cobler) Doty. Wanda married Ronald Lee Heine Jan. 6, 1973, in Ellinwood, Kan.  

Wanda, a lifetime Great Bend resident, most recently worked at Salvation Army and previously worked at Dominican Sisters of Peace, Pizza Hut and Dilly’s restaurant. Wanda had a deep affection and love for all animals, especially dogs, in particular Bucky and Bailey. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family, making an abundant number of special memories.

Survivors include her husband Ronald of the home; four sons, Chris Heine (Kathi), Jeff Heine (Ann), Rick Heine (Janelle), Brent Heine (Megan), all of Great Bend; one daughter, Kim Petrie (Cecil) of Newton; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Pastor Michael Munz presiding. Interment will follow at Great Bend Cemetery North, Great Bend. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023, at Bryant Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to LADA Paws Rescue or Chasing Tails Rescue, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS  67530.
