STAFFORD – Wayne Stephen “Bud” McAfee, 90, died Aug. 28, 2017 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. Born Feb. 28, 1927 he was the son of George W. and Tracy Gertrude Kallaus McAfee. He was a veteran of WW II serving with the Navy as Seamen First Class in Guam and the Philippines. He was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and a past member of the Masonic Lodge. On August 1, 1947 he married Virginia Williams at Rawlings, Wyo. She died June 3, 1999.
He is survived by his children: Pamela Moon (Dean) of Brownsville, Texas, Steven McAfee (Denise) of Leawood, and Dale McAfee of Eudora; brother George Imel (Pricilla); sister-in-law Carolyn Claypool; seven grandchildren: Amy Harris, April Green, Aaron King, Dustin McAfee, Monica Murphy, Gina Gould and Darren McAfee; three step grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, 15 step-great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren and eight step-great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, David, and sisters Francis Tuckwood, Dorothy Hill, Madge Grayson and Eunice Northcutt. He is also preceded by a grandson, Brian McAfee.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017 at Minnis Chapel, Stafford. Burial will be at Stafford Cemetery with presentation of colors by US Navy Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Memorials can be made to the Stafford Legion Riders in care of the chapel.
