OTIS — Wayne Wilbur Harbaugh, 72, died July 16, 2013 at his home in Otis.
Born March 24, 1941 in Hays, he was the son of Willis and Elsie (Bender) Harbaugh. Wayne graduated from Luray High School and served his country in the United States Navy from 1959 until 1963. On Feb. 24, 1968, he married Sandra Rose in Salina. Wayne has been an Otis resident since 1996 coming from Colorado.
Mr. Harbaugh was a member of the Hoisington Veterans of Foreign Wars, Great Bend American Legion and served on the board for LINK in Hays. He enjoyed collecting coins, pencil sharpeners, and banks.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Harbaugh of the home in Otis; two sons, Scott Harbaugh and wife Molly, Frederick, Colo.; and Christopher Harbaugh, Las Vegas, Nev.; a brother, Stan Harbaugh and wife Bonnie, Longmont, Colo.; a sister, Judy Janssen and husband Wayne, Russell; three grandchildren, Evan Harbaugh, Taya Harbaugh, and Kali Harbaugh; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willis Harbaugh; mother, Elsie Dodson, and step-father, Walter Dodson.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Otis Methodist Church with Pastor Diana Hill officiating. There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to Locust Grove Village Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
