WICHITA — Yong Sun Baker, 71, died Thursday (Dec. 8, 2022) at her home in Wichita, Kan.

She was born in Koesan-kun, Chungchong-pukto, Korea on April 4, 1951, the daughter of Chuljong Yoo and Oknam Choi. Coming to the United States in the early 1970’s, Yong Sun lived in the Great Bend and Ellinwood, Kan. areas.

Yong Sun was a seamstress all of her life. While living in Great Bend, she worked at West Limited and Brentwood and attended Trinity United Methodist Church.

She moved to Wichita in 2000 and worked as a seamstress at David’s Bridal Shop, Men’s Warehouse, and Dillard’s. Since it’s formation Yong Sun has been a member of the Wichita Korean Church of Hope.

Survivors include her daughter Jessica Baker and her husband Jeremy Eaton of Wichita; son Scott Baker and his partner Jeff Caster of Great Bend, Kan.; three grandchildren Misha Eaton, Mason Blanton and Jaedon Musgrove; along with one brother Jaeheung Kim and two sisters Myoungja Yoo and Jaseseung Kim all in South Korea.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday (Dec. 21st) at the Wichita Korean Church of Hope. Arrangements are by Affordable Cremations Plus of Wichita, Kan.
