Democrats are bailing on scandal-plagued Hillary Clinton, and the big Democratic Party money can’t possibly be enthusiastic about socialist Bernie Sanders.
Is Joe ready?
The latest CBS poll shows Hillary’s popularity among Democratic primary voters has dropped dramatically, from 58 percent last August to less than half today, 47 percent.
The 55 percent of self-described “liberal Democrats” who supported Hillary have abandoned her for Bernie Sanders - 40 percent for Sanders, now 35 percent for Hillary.
Hillary once had the trust and support of 61 percent of “moderate Democrats.” That was before the email server scandal in which she dodged, lied and cackled at the accusations she obviously broke federal rules and likely broke the law by maintaining a secretive private email server more easily hacked than the required government server.
A Rasmussen poll reveals nearly 60 percent of likely voters surveyed believe she broke the law.
Now, only 49 percent of “moderate Democrats” support Hillary while their support for Sanders has increased from a lowly 9 percent to 20 percent. Joe Biden’s support with this crowd has increased from 11 percent to 21 percent, and Joe isn’t even campaigning!
This can only get worse for Hillary, as the server investigation shows classified and top secret communications were, indeed, delivered to and from her home computer.
Not only are Benghazi hearings are on the horizon, millions of dollars in foreign contributions to her foundation appears to parallel with favorable dealings from her State Department.
While Bernie is rallying thousands in arenas across the country, Hillary is humiliated, playing to empty seats. Suddenly she’s the old pop star whose raunchy behavior finally repulses former fans.
Without carve-outs or favorable tax exemptions, how could Hillary’s billionaire donors possibly endorse and back Bernie, who sincerely believes he can extract $75 billion a year from them to pay for everyone else’s college education?
Who can the left-wing billionaires support?
Joe Biden.
Joe has demonstrated his voting dedication to campaign contributors such as financial institutions, police unions and organized liberal women’s groups.
Democratic voters love his rousing polemics making headlines, such as CBS News reporting, “Biden tells African-American Audience GOP Ticket would put them ‘back in chains.’”
There are a lot of reasons people will vote for a candidate that have nothing to do with policy or how he would manage… or mismanage… the country.
In Delaware, Biden supporters have recently said, “Being wrong on foreign policy for 40 years is no reason he can’t be President,” “Yeah, Joe is a goofball, but he’s OUR goofball,” “I’ll vote for Joe because he doesn’t drink and he’s never cheated on his wife” and the common, “I love Joe!”
We believe him when he says his son Beau, whose life tragically ended at the age of 46 last May due to cancer, told him to run for President. This, too, will inspire people.
One listener to my radio program told the story of his car being stuck in the snow near a popular Delaware sledding hill. With kids in the car and spinning rear wheels, a stranger walks up and offers to push him out. Grateful for the push, the man gets out of his car and offers some cash to thank the stranger. The stranger refuses the money, saying, “My name is Joe Biden. All I ask is that you vote for me in every election.” The happy dad has done so ever since.
“Regular Joe” knows “mano-a-mano” politics.
On the other hand, big contributors want candidates to do their bidding, or at least come close.
Hillary is good for such obeisance, but she’s damaged herself.
Politico reported as of July this year liberal billionaires George Soros and Hollywood mogul Haim Saban helped raise over $15 million for Hillary super PAC Priorities USA Action. Soros led the way for Hillary PAC American Bridge 21st Century to raise an additional $7.7 million.
Wealthy Democrats need to back a winner they can trust. Bernie Sanders does not look like that guy.
Joe Biden does, even if he buys his shoes not by their color but by their flavor.
