 Dear Editor,

Thanks to the Tribune for publishing the Dec. 30 article by Jim Misunas entitled “Row the Boat” (Panther grad excels at K-State).

The achievement of Jessica Kuhlman was deservedly articulated as Misunas told how Jessica boldly walked-on in competition, achieved in spite of a broken collarbone accident, then to be voted K-State’s Most Inspirational Athlete.

Her successful endeavors remind me of a stanza of John G. Whittier.

“You do your work, you shall succeed, in thine or in another day/and if denied the victor’s mead, thou shall not lack for toiler’s pay.”

Jessica has achieved the victor’s mead. Congratulations to her and thanks to the Tribune for the story.
