Have those mammograms done ladies

Dear Editor,
For those of you who may not know, Hays is hosting a Susan G. Komen run on May 11, 2013. This is the first time the Susan G. Komen has been in this area. My sister and I have been lucky enough to participate in the Susan G. Komen at Omaha, Neb. and Oklahoma City, Okla. When raising money for these runs I have always said, “You never know when it may hit home.”
Unfortunately it has hit home for us this time. Our mother was diagnosed in January with breast cancer. We are more determined than ever to raise money for this cause. The team we are on is called, “Runners of Barton County.” If you would like to become a part of our team log on to the Susan G. Komen site and join us, or if you would like to contribute money to our team log on to the site and donate to Runners of Barton County. I would love to show them how special and giving the people of this county are! You can look up Runners of Barton County on Face Book.
Please have those mammograms done ladies. If not for yourselves, then have it done for your loved ones. If you have a special woman in your life, tell her to please have it done. I know women who say it is uncomfortable. Would you rather have some discomfort for a short time and catch it early, or would you rather go through months, even years of discomfort because you didn’t have one done? It is your choice. We are so thankful our mother had her mammogram done and they caught it early! Dr. Durrett is such a caring Dr., we couldn’t have asked for a better doctor to take care of our mom.
