Dear Editor,
United Way of Central Kansas would like to write a Love Letter to the individuals, businesses, schools and churches that helped Eldercare, Meals on Wheels, Golden Belt Home Health and Hospice clients receive a Box of Love this Valentines Day. What started out as a Community Impact project with United Way Community Partners, turned into a heartfelt hug from the community! Over 150 boxes were delivered, filled with home made Valentines from Great Bend Children’s Learning Center, Teen Court, and the Girl Scouts all UWCK partners. In addition several students, and church’s contributed as well. The outpour of support, and the stories of the volunteers from college students to RSVP were heartfelt and how touched were the Elderly and Cancer patients to receive such a wonderful surprise! Special thanks to Linn Hogg, Kandace Wolf, Brandi Gruber, Gaila Nielsen and Charell Owings from their support to get this project off the ground. To Great Bend, Hoisington, and Ellinwood thank you for making a difference! We will be doing this again and will be Expanding to other communities.
