Support for friend and colleague

Dear Editor,
It is with a great deal honor I write this letter of support for a colleague and friend for over 30 years. Dean Akings is a candidate for Barton county Commission 5th District. Dean has served the citizens of Great Bend and Barton County with honor and distinction since 1977, when he started his life of public service as a police officer. In 1981, he lead the city as interim City Administrator through the flood that decimated a good portion of the city. His leadership brought the people and resources together that rebuilt those areas affected.
He became Chief of Police in 1983, and is the longest seated chief in the history of Great Bend. Dean has proven himself as a guardian of the fiscal resources trusted to him to manage the largest general fund department within the city. Dean has the experience and the leadership ability to represent the citizens of Barton County with the dedication and service minded intent he started with 37 years ago. I’m asking for you to vote for Dean Akings for Barton County Commissioner 5th District.
