Dear Editor,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers who took the time to bake items for the Golden Belt Humane Society Adopt A Pet pake sale held on April 6 at Orsheln’s. Without all of you it would not have been possible. And a very special thank you also to all the people who came out and purchasing all the wonderful baked items! Without your support it wouldn’t have been the success that it was!
With the dollars made from the fundraisers we are having, it enables us to vaccinate, spay or neuter, and provide medical treatments when necessary. It also provides gas money to the great volunteers that drive these animals to their new destinations. When our shelter is over flowing it then makes it possible to transfer them out of our facility to rescue facilities where they will find their forever homes. It is our hope to one day make our a shelter a no kill facility but to do this we need the support of the entire community.
It is our plan to have other fundraisers in the coming months. Each month on the first Saturday of the month, Adopt A Pet will have animals at Orscheln’s that are adoptable. Our next fundraiser will be May 4th at Orscheln’s to coincide with Adopt A Pet day, so mark your calendars...we will be selling hamburgers and hotdogs grilled right there! I would again urge you all to come out and enjoy lunch and visit all of the adorable dogs and possibly adopt and give them a forever home. We also have plans in the making for a special fundraiser to take place on Nov. 9th. I will be announcing details for it at a later date. I promise this fund raiser will be one you don’t want to miss!
I would encourage everyone to please visit our shelter if you are looking for a pet to add to your family! Rescue’s make the most wonderful pets and they deserve to be given a chance. We have a very full facility right now and it is necessary to get these babies into homes where they can be given love and a great life!
