Dear Editor,
As we enter the season of gratitude and thankfulness, we would like to express our thanks to all of those who supported the 6th annual Kans for Kids auction and dinner on Oct. 29. Thank you to all who donated the fabulous auction items this year. Special thanks to Poncho Hitschmann for donating the 1930 Model A Ford.
Thank you to Matt McBain for serving as MC at this year’s auction as well as T.R. Esfeld for serving as auctioneer for five of our six auctions and to Dr. Rev. Reuben Lang’at for giving the blessing.
Special thanks also goes to Barton Community College for the use of the beautiful new Conference Center at Camp Aldrich and to Todd for making sure we had everything we needed. Thank you to Steve Moeder and crew for a magnificent meal and to Jimmie Haddon for creating our superhero figures for photo ops.
We’ve had another very successful year and we thank all of you who have participated in any or all of our events, whether it was the annual radiothon, the golf tournament in Ellinwood, hosted by Ryan Alefs, the 11th Annual Fall Fun Festival, hosted by Kyle, Melinda and Kylee Kasselman or the auction, no matter how large or small a role you played in those events, we are eternally grateful.
Those of you that faithfully collect aluminum cans for us, thank you! Keep up the good work, it truly does make a difference, not only to Kans for Kids, but also to our environment.
We are so very blessed to live in central Kansas where hearts are bigger than the vast prairie that surrounds us. Kans for Kids wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for those generous hearts of gold. As we celebrate 22 years of the existence of this organization, we are blown away by the generosity, love, and compassion that God has richly blessed us with.
Very special thanks to our amazing, hard-working, Board of Directors who work tirelessly and selflessly because of their compassion for kids battling cancer. We are so very blessed and grateful to all of the work provided by our young ambassadors: Tanner Blackwell, Hunter Donecker, Dade Cannon, Zoe Jerke, Evan Foltz, Hadleigh and Hayden Gardner.
Finally, and most importantly, thank you to the families of Kans for Kids that allow us to be just a small part of their journey through childhood cancer. We love each and every single one of you. You will always hold a very special place in our hearts.
Debbie anf Duane Reif,
Co-directors Kans for Kids Fighting Cancer Foundation, Inc.
