Recruit local athletes for community college sports

As a former community college volleyball coach I looked online to see the makeup of current community colleges. This is what I found. There are 18 community colleges playing volleyball today. One had 12 foreign players.  One had eight. Four had five or more. Only three had none. One had 11 out-of-staters. The majority of them had more foreign and out-of-state players than in-state.

Overall, only 45% of the players were in-state. Get the picture?

Community colleges are losing their identity. The trend is going to even fewer local players. The administration, the community and fans want winners. It is happening in every sport. Is there an end to this trend? I hope so.
