To the editor:
The storm of this past Sunday evening was a bit scary and the aftermath a bit overwhelming for many.
But a truly bright spot appeared just as the sun was setting. It came in the form of three young high school students named Melanie, Chase and John (I hope I remembered your names correctly). These young people were going down the street in a pickup offering to take away our stacked up tree branches. Not just one load – after it was completely dark, they came back and hauled away the remainder of the pile. When I asked them why they were taking away the tree branches of total strangers I was told they just felt like they should help out.
So heartfelt thanks to those three remarkable examples of our Great Bend youth. You are a credit to your generation.
