Cougars are back in that top spot of NJCAA indoor poll.

It was a short vacation from the top spot in the NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Top 25. That was the spot the Barton men’s team spent the first three weeks before dropping to No. 2 last week by the narrowest of margins.
This week, the Cougars are back in that top spot. Barton moved past Iowa Central and back to the top of the poll, released by the United States Track and Field Association.
Barton is now No. 1 with 304.78 points followed by South Plains (Texas) with 293.65. Iowa Central fell from No. 1 to No. 3 with 273.27. Lurking close behind is No. 4 Cloud County with 257.98. Coffeyville is a distant fifth with 164.71.
Once again, a total of nine Jayhawk Conference schools were ranked in the Top 25.
In addition to Barton, Cloud and Coffeyville, Hutchinson is just outside the top 10 at No. 13.
Garden City, Cowley, Allen, Colby and Butler are all from No. 19-24. Garden, Cowley, Allen, and Colby are 19, 20, 21, and 22 while Butler is at No. 24.
Barton is fresh off a Region VI title this past weekend with the NJCAA Indoor Championships next on the slate the first weekend in March.
