HESSTON — Dwayne Brunson and Algie Key are quickly becoming a lethal inside-outside combination for the unbeaten Barton Community College Cougars.
Key scored 24 points and Brunson added 19 on Saturday evening, leading Barton (12-0) past Northern Oklahoma-Enid 92-72 at the Hesston Thanksgiving Basketball Classic. This came less than 24 hours after Key scored 28 points and Brunson had a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds during a 92-83 win over Hesston on Friday evening.
Andell Cumberbatch scored 14 points and Carl Wallace added 10 for the Cougars, who took control of the game almost immediately and roared to a 53-36 halftime lead.
Wallace and Cumberbatch served as complimentary double-digit scorers during the weekend as both scored 12 against Hesston.
