PRATT — Surrendering six runs in the third inning, the Barton Community College baseball team fell 10-0 in a game-shortened seven innings on Wednesday to Pratt at Jud Stanion Field.

Trailing 1-0 into the third, the Cougars unraveled walking three batters, hitting three batters and aiding the Beavers further with two fielding errors. Pratt’s Colton Lorance kept the Cougars hitters off-balance all game, surrendering only a Jace Bowman sixth-inning single up the middle.

Despite the loss, the Cougars took three of four from the Beavers in the four-game series to run their Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Western Division Conference mark to 5-3 and 8-8 overall. Pratt stands at 3-5 in conference and 5-8 overall.

Barton will travel to Colby Community College for conference games on Saturday and Sunday.  First pitch for each day’s doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m.
