GARDEN CITY — The Barton Community College women’s basketball team moved above .500 in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Western Division play with an 80-62 win over Garden City on the road on Saturday evening.
The Lady Cougars took control of the game early on, and while the Lady Broncbusters came close to overtaking them, Barton held on down the stretch.
Mariana Lambert blasted Garden City for 23 points, going 6-for-9 from the field (66.7 percent) and 9-for-10 from the free-throw line (90 percent). She also grabbed eight rebounds.
Cheyenne Hedrington scored 14 points,and Taylor Mayes added 11 points.
