It is not unusual for freshman to hit a wall 20-some games into their collegiate seasons. But for Taylor Regan, it like she is running in open territory.
The freshman from Albert continues to improve in her first season for the Barton women’s basketball team, picking up her second Kansas MTXE Jayhawk Conference Player of the Week award in a three-week span.
Regan earned her second award after averaging 15.5 points and 12.5 rebounds a game the previous week.
The Otis-Bison High product scored 15 points and collected 10 rebounds on a close loss to Cowley then came back with a monster game of 16 points and 15 rebounds in a win at Allen County.
For the season, Regan is averaging 10.1 points and 9.5 rebounds. But in 20 conference games this year, she has improved those numbers to 10.3 points and 10.0 rebounds – averaging a double-double.
Regan has posted double digit rebounds in five of her past seven games and double figure scoring in six of her past eight.
