CENTRAL PLAINS 56, THUNDER RIDGE 8

KENSINGTON – Central Plains rushed for six touchdowns and quarterback Brodie Crites threw for two scores as the Oilers routed Kensington-Thunder Ridge with a 56-8 victory in the Eight-Man 2 football playoffs. 

The Oilers (6-3) play at Coldwater-South Central (7-2) next week.

Oiler Eli Hurley scored three touchdowns with 93 yards rushing. Joel Schreiber gained 107 yards with two scores. Blaine Hickel rushed for 117 yards with a touchdown.

Paxton Dody caught a 35-yard touchdown pass and Hunter Klima also caught a touchdown pass.

STAFFORD – Stafford quarterback Jacob Simmons rushed for three touchdowns and passed for four scores in a dominating 68-38 non-district football victory over Satanta. 

Simmons scored on 2, 11 and 19-yard runs. Brody Kerschenske caught 8, 15, and 20-yard touchdown passes. Jimi Oleson caught a 32-yard touchdown pass. Jackson Mead recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown. 

Stafford ends with a 2-7 record while Satanta ends at 0-9.

Satanta’s Joe Anderson scored four touchdowns, two rushing and two passing.

MACKSVILLE – Macksville quarterback Kendall Grippin accounted for six touchdowns in a 62-12 non-district football victory over Elkhart. Grippin rushed for 84 yards and four touchdowns. He passed for 108 yards and completed 15- and 19-yard touchdown passes to Gavin Rose. 

Hector Gomez scored a rushing touchdown and completed a 56-yard touchdown pass to Orion Guevara, who accounted for 137 yards offense. Ervey Triana led Macksville's defense with 13 tackles and a quarterback sack.

MINNEOLA – Minneola quarterback Eli Lang passed for three touchdowns and scored a rushing touchdown in a 58-8 Eight-Man 2 playoff victory over St. John Thursday. Minneola (9-0) plays Sylvan-Lucas (7-1) in the second round.

Lang completed a pair of touchdown passes to Jessie Smith and a 30-yard scoring strike to Tyler Klotz. Halfback James Littlewood scored a pair of rushing touchdowns on 13- and 26-yard runs.

SHARON SPRINGS – Otis-Bison quarterback Jake Hoopingarner rushed for 33 yards and passed for 22 yards in a 58-0 loss to Wallace County in Thursday’s Eight-Man 2 football playoffs. The Cougars (0-9) reached the Wildcat 14-yard line, but failed to convert.

The Wildcats (6-3) converted four Cougar turnovers into touchdowns. Tharyan Appelhans returned a fumble 14 yards for a touchdown. Cade Funk intercepted two passes and Tyler Korbe recovered a fumble.

Wallace County quarterback Kean Dinkel passed for three touchdowns and added a 1-yard touchdown. Funk caught 10- and 36-yard scoring passes. Korbe caught a 14-yard TD pass and scored on a 10-yard run.
