MACKSVILLE 50, LA CROSSE 0

MACKSVILLE – Macksville quarterback Ryan Kuckelman threw for four touchdown passes and rushed for a score as the Mustangs rolled past La Crosse 50-0 in Friday's Eight-Man 1, District 7 football game. Kuckelman threw for 209 yards and rushed fir 58 yards.

Jason Cleveland caught 31- and 59-yard scoring passes. Hector Gomez caught a 35-yard touchdown pass and scored on 4- and 16-yard runs. Lance Lickiss scored on a 23-yard scoring pass.

Macksville (6-0, 3-0 District) has virtually clinched the District title with wins over La Crosse (4-2, 2-1) and WaKeeney-Trego. Macksville's defense held La Crosse to 5 of 22 passing and 107 yards rushing.

HOISINGTON – Hoisington quarterback Tony Moore scored two rushing touchdowns and passed for two scores as the Cardinals past Lakin 44-0 in Friday's 2A District 7 showdown.

Moore scored on 8- and 37-yard runs. He completed a dazzling 23-yard touchdown pass to Teron Kraft and a 21-yard scoring pass to Leyton Haxton.

Hoisington (4-2, 2-0) takes control of the District over Lakin (5-1, 2-1). Cardinals Gage Britt and Alderdice recovered fumbles.

STAFFORD – Stafford quarterback Dylan Gantz threw for four touchdown passes as the Trojans stayed unbeaten with a wild 36-32 non-district football victory over Norwich.

Gantz threw for 266 yards and completed two scoring passes to Jimi Oleson and one apiece to Colton Minks and Josh Hildebrand. Minks had 139 yards receiving on five receptions.

Stafford (6-0, 2-0) meets South Barber (6-0, 3-0) for the Eight-Man 2, District 7 title next week.

ELLINWOOD  – No. 1 ranked 1A Inman was sparked by quarterback Josiah Buller with four touchdown passes in a 38-0 football victory over Ellinwood in 1A, District 7. Inman (6-0, 3-0) stays unbeaten while Ellinwood (2-4, 0-3) loses its third District game.

Buller connected with Eli Brunk for 21- and 25-yard touchdowns. Harrison Brunk caught 43- and 52-yard touchdown strikes.

OTIS – Central Plains tailback Blaine Hickel rushed for 180 yards and three scores to ignite a 60-14 Eight-Man 2, District 5 football victory. Hickel scored on 17, 28 and 58 yard runs. Quarterback Evan Stratmann threw TD passes to Paxton Doty and Hunter Klima and scored on a 1-yard run to end the ballgame. Hickel and Klima each contributed six tackles and two assists.

Central Plains (1-5, 1-2 District) won its first District game over Otis-Bison (0-6, 0-2). Ethan Graff returned a kickoff 74 yards for a touchdown. Jake Hoopingarner scored on a 15-yard run.

BURRTON – Pawnee Heights runner Davin Hamby scored six touchdowns in a wild 82-60 setback to Burrton in a 6-Man District 2 football showdown.

Hamby rushed for 273 yards and scored on runs of 4, 9, 20, 22, 27, 30 in an inspired effort. Jimmy Gardner scored on 6- and 7-yard runs. Gardner completed a 45-yard scoring strike to Dakota Ryan for the Tigers (1-5, 1-3 District).

Burrton’s red-hot quarterback Aiden Hoopes threw for 278 yards and eight touchdown passes. He rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns. Jude Barnes caught four scoring passes and Cam Schmidt and Charlie Nusser each caught two touchdown passes. Burrton passed for 303 yards and rushed for 195 yards.

Burrton (4-2, 3-2) outscored the Tigers 33-15 after leading 49-45. Burrton scored 12 touchdowns and 10 extra-point conversions.

SOUTH BARBER 36, ST. JOHN 30

KIOWA — The St. John Tigers came up short 36-30 against South Barber is one of the greatest efforts in recent Tiger history. The Tigers pushed the 6-0 Chieftains until the final buzzer with a string of highlight plays.

St. John's Abelardo Llanas delivered the play of the year with a 65-yard return of a fumble return. Daniel Portillo forced Briggs Jewell's fumble as the Chieftains reached the 3-yard line with a 14-6 lead. Caden McCandless rambled 50 yards for a touchdown and caught a dazzling 27-yard scoring pass from Marco Ibarra. Ibarra did his part with an amazing 38-yard scoring strike to Alan Valenzuela. St. John falls to 1-5, 0-2 District.

South Barber quarterback Briggs Jewell did enough for the win with a trio of touchdown passes to Oakley Duvall, Zander Myers and Cash Tomberlin for South Barber (6-0, 3-0).
