DERBY — Derby's eight-run second inning helped drop Great Bend 13-3 to extend the Bat Cats' losing streak to seven games Thursday. Derby (10-15) moves within one-half game of the Bat Cars (11-15) heading to Friday's home game at Al Burns Field.

Derby's Tyler DeLong ripped a three-run homer and Carsen Pracht drilled a two-run single in the eight-run second inning off reliever John Zerr. Couper Cornblum, Brennen VanBruesegen and Carson Shively also ripped Derby home runs. DeLong drove home five runs and Shively drove home three runs.

The Bat Cats enjoyed a pair of highlights. Seth Kenagy ripped a home run and Trent Touchet singled home Collin Meinert and Brady Michel in a three-run third inning.
