HOISINGTON – Like a sleeping giant, once Hoisington got rolling, Beloit was finished.
The Cardinals (10-0) outscored the Trojans 28-0 after halftime to earn a showdown at home against Southeast of Saline (10-0) in the 2A football quarterfinals.
Jason Robinson was a one-man highlight reel with a 68-yard touchdown reception, an interception with six tackles and four assists.
Quarterback Tony Moore completed touchdown passes to Robinson and Mason Martin. Teron Kraft stayed red hot with 90 yards rushing and a 10-yard score. Mason Alderdice scored on a 6-yard run.
"Once we got the Teron Kraft running north-and-south, we played better the second half," said Hoisington coach Zach Baird. "Give our offensive line credit."
Gage Britt put the finishing touches on the second-half surge with a 21-yard touchdown after Caleb Birzer's blocked punt. Carson Mason recovered a fumble. Teron Kraft had five tackles.
"We made a heck of a play and got a blocked punt," Baird said. "We played aggressive and hard on that snap."
Hoisington is 27-23 all-time in the state football playoffs.
