EL DORADO – The El Dorado Broncos extended the Great Bend Bat Cats’ losing streak to four games with a 9-3 Sunflower Collegiate League baseball victory Thursday.
The Bat Cats (13-9) had won seven consecutive games before their latest four-game losing streak that dropped them to third place in the Sunflower West Division. The Bat Cats return home Sunday at 3 p.m. with free food provided for the first 250 fans. Corporate sponsors are Moeder Plumbing and A.J. Chrest/AFLAC.
El Dorado’s Cooper Elliott homered and drove home three runs. Tanner White and Kros Bay each drove in two runs. El Dorado scored three runs in the first inning and led 6-0 after four innings.
Great Bend’s Collin Meinert, Nolan Riley, Chandler Bloomer and Brady Michel each delivered two hits. Collin Meinert singled home Michel in the fifth inning. Daunte Freeman singled home Nolan Riley and Chandler Bloomer singled home Freeman in a two-run sixth inning.
