Ellinwood baseball wins pair

ELLINWOOD – Ellinwood’s Bryan Jaske delivered six runs batted in, two doubles and a triple to spark the Eagles past Kinsley 9-3 and 15-0 in Thursday’s baseball doubleheader. Ellinwood (8-6) kept Kinsley (0-12) winless.

Ellinwood pitcher Tristan Keith threw a 3-inning no-hitter with three strikeouts in the nightcap.

ELLINWOOD 9, KINSLEY 3 (G1) – Ellinwood’s Jaske doubled and tripled and drove home three runs. Cooper Hosman, Campbell Coleman, Drake Hosman and Cooper Gunn drove in runs.

Drake Hosman (1-0) struck out eight batters.

ELLINWOOD 15, KINSLEY 0 (G2) – Ellinwood’s Keith (1-0) retired nine batters to record the Eagles’ first no-hitter in school history. The Eagles put the game on ice with a 10-run second inning.

Jaske delivered more thunder with a double and three RBIs. Chase Gibson, Cooper Hosman, Cason Merritt and Cooper Gunn each drove home two runs.
