PRATT – Year 2 for Ellinwood baseball coach Roger Ward era is going nicely. Ellinwood (3-1) swept Pratt Skyline 13-2 and 12-2 to win its third baseball game after winning three games last season.
ELLINWOOD 13, SKYLINE 2 (G1) – Ellinwood turned eight walks and five Skyline errors into nine unearned runs for a 13-2 opening victory. The Eagles scored six runs in the fifth inning and four runs in the sixth inning.
Cooper Hosman scored four runs and Bryan Jaske and Coleman each scored two runs. Dylan Gantz drove in two runs. Jaske, Campbell Coleman, Brayden Williams and Tristan Keith drove in runs.
Jaske (1-0) struck out 10 batters and yielded four hits in five innings.
ELLINWOOD 12, SKYLINE 2 (G2) – Ellinwood’s Williams enjoyed a breakout game with four hits, three RBIs and two runs scored. Keith doubled and drove home three runs. Cooper Hosman had three hits and scored two runs.
Cooper Hosman (1-0) struck out eight batters in four innings.
