HAYS — Former Fort Hays State University wide receiver Cordarol Scales signed as an undrafted free agent with the New York Jets on Wednesday.
Scales is the second FHSU player to sign with an NFL team this summer after fellow teammate and wide receiver O.J. Murdock signed with the Tennessee Titans in late July.
Scales was a two-time All-MIAA Honorable Mention selection at wide receiver. He caught 33 passes in 2010 for 527 yards — second-most on the team behind Murdock — and six touchdowns.
Scales was a participant in the 2011 Cactus Bowl, the NCAA Division II All-Star Game, in January.
