The Great Bend Middle School concluded their first middle school tennis season.  
Forty- two students participated in the sport and each was able to attend at least one of the eight competitive meets on the schedule.  
Highlights from the season include a first-place finish by Matt Phillips and a third-place finish by Nate Thayer at the McPherson JV meet.  
The No. 3 doubles duo made up of Alicia Strickland and Sydney McAfee took home the second-place medal at the JV meet, as well.  
Thayer also placed fifth at the Salina Varsity Meet while Olivia Strickland finished in seventh.
The team was coached by Shannon Schartz, Renee Buntain and Matt Mazouch.
