Gomez sparks Macksville to 58-40 victory

MACKSVILLE 58, NESS CITY 40

NESS CITY –The Macksville Mustangs were happy tailback Hector Gomez returned with a vengeance with five rushing touchdowns and 281 yards and a dazzling 65-yard scoring reception from quarterback Kendall Grippin in a wild 58-40 Eight-Man 1, District 7 football victory over Ness City.

Macksville (2-3, 1-1 District) drops Ness City to 0-5, 0-2 District.

Gomez delivered 281 yards on 18 carries. Orion Guevara added nine carries for 100 yards and two scores in addition to 18 tackles. Grippin completed his one pass for a touchdown and added 25 yards rushing.

Linebacker James Granger was unbelievable with 24 tackles and a sack. Rose had 15 tackles.

Ness City’s Daniel Morales rushed for 144 yards and scored two touchdowns. Quarterback Diego Guzman rushed for two touchdowns and completed a touchdown pass to Ben Durham. The Eagles rushed for 279 yards.
