Golfers battled winds gusting past 50 mph during challenging weather conditions in Monday's Great Bend junior varsity golf tournament.

The gusty southerly wind provided no home-course advantage for Great Bend (255), which placed seventh. Panther scores were posted by Cameron Harbaugh (60), Bradon Suppes (63), Levi Stevens (64), Kamron Stude (68) and Ty Boone (70).

McPherson's Cooper Bruce (47) earned medalist honors in a scorecard tiebreaker over Hutchinson High's Winston Johnston (47). Hutchinson High (205) placed first and Hays High (218) placed runner-up.
