HAYS — The Great Bend boys and girls basketball teams will start the 2014-2015 season against the Colby Eagles at the Gerald Mitchell Hays City Shoot-Out Thursday.
The Great Bend girls, coming off a Class 5A state tournament appearance last year, open at 3 p.m. against Colby at Hays High.
The Great Bend boys meet Colby at 4:45 p.m. at Hays High.
Other boys first round games match Garden City against Hays-Thomas More Prep at 3 p.m.; Newton versus Olathe North at 6:30 p.m.; and Hays High against DeSoto at 8:15 p.m.
Other girls first round games match Garden City against Hays-Thomas More Prep at 4:45 p.m.; Newton versus Olathe North at 8:15 p.m.; and Hays High against DeSoto at 6:30 p.m.
The second round is scheduled Friday at Hays High and Hays Middle School.
The championship round will be played Saturday at Hays High.
