Panthers swimmers tune up for WAC
MANHATTAN — The Great Bend Panthers swimmers competed at Saturday’s Manhatttan Invitational to sharpen their times in preparation to defend their Western Athletic Conference championship. The Buffaloes own home pool advantage at Thursday’s WAC championship at Hays.
Matthew Huslig led the Panthers with a fourth-place finish in the 100 freestyle (53.0). Brady Daniel placed sixth in the 500 freestyle (5:49.28).
The Panthers’ best relay finish was fifth in the 200 free relay (1:43.03) with Joel Mellenthin, Brady Daniel, Eduardo Prado and Matthew Huslig competing.
The Panthers finished sixth with 165 points, behind fifth-place finisher Garden City with 179 points.
