Great Bend relay qualifies for 5-1A state meet

Great Bend’s first-place 200-yard free relay (1:52.5) qualified for the 5-1A state swimming meet with Emilee Hall, Kamryn Johns, Josephine Mazouch and Elly Somers at Thursday’s Campus Swimming Invitational.

HAYSVILLE — Great Bend’s first-place 200-yard free relay (1:52.5) qualified for the 5-1A state swimming meet with Emilee Hall, Kamryn Johns, Josephine Mazouch and Elly Somers at Thursday’s Campus Swimming Invitational.

The 400-yard freestyle relay (4:14.02) placed runner-up with Hall, Mazouch, Somers and Johns.

The third-place 200-yard medley relay (2:22.79) placed third with Hall, Somers, Mazouch and Johns.

The Panthers earned a trio of runner-up silver medals.

Runner-up finishes were earned by Clarise Snapp, 200 IM (2:54.38); Somers, 100 butterfly (1:09.49); and Somers, 100-breaststroke (1:21.09).

Placing third were Mazouch, 50 freestyle (27.91); and 100 freestyle (1:02.56); Snapp, 100 breaststroke (1:21.32); Reggie Huslig, 100 backstroke (1:20.15); Hall, 200 freestyle (2:20.18); and Carper,  500 freestyle (6:48.65). 

Great Bend (491) finished runner-up behind Campus (591).
