Great Bend Middle School girls place first

Great Bend Middle School seventh grader Kyler Holinde sprints to a third-place finish at Haysville.

HAYSVILLE — Great Bend Middle School runner Eliana Jackson placed third (13:59.4) to spark the Panther eighth-grade girls to first place at the Haysville Invitational cross country meet. 

Jackson was followed by fourth-place Addy Nicholson (14:04.6); fifth-place Morgan Beckwith (14:11.2) and sixth-place Daizy Gomez (14:40.7) on the 1.5-mile course.

The GBMS seventh-grade girls and the GBMS seventh-grade boys both placed runner-up in the team standings.

Darcy Feist placed fourth (9:55.6) led the seventh-grade girls. Third-place finisher Kyler Holinde (8:51.4) led the Panther boys to their runner-up finish.  

Brandon Suppes placed 12th (13:10.9) to lead the eighth-grade boys to sixth place.

“This was a tough course but the team adjusted well and showed good focus and effort,” said Great Bend coach Carley Wells. “As the season continues, the runners are working harder to improve their times with every race.”
