A dozen runners participated in the Flatlander Half Marathon, a 13.1-mile challenge that started and ended Saturday morning in front of the Great Bend Tribune office. An hour after the race began, 20 more participants started the 5K portion of the challenge. This professionally timed event was organized by Be Well Barton County. Proceeds from the event benefit wellness projects in Barton County.

Christian Graham, 26, won the overall medal for males in the half marathon with a time of 1:08:25 (pace 5:13) and Marcia Williams, 35, won the overall medal for females with a time of 1:52:05 (pace 8:32).
