Hoisington baseball splits twin bill

HOISINGTON – Hoisington’s Jerrod Bieberle capped a four-run rally with the game-winning double for a 6-5 opening Legion baseball victory over Pratt. M.J. Aylward singled and Braxton Donovan bunted him to second base. Bieberle doubled home Aylward for the game-winner.

Pratt won the nightcap 16-3.

HOISINGTON 6, PRATT 5 (G1) – Hoisington trailed 5-2 heading to the bottom of the seventh inning when a three-run rally saved the day. Bieberle led off with a single. Tony Moore doubled home Bieberle. Leyton Haxton singled and Jacob Specht walked to load the bases. Moore scored on Cole Steinert's groundout. Haxton scored on a wild pitch for a 5-5 tie.

Pratt's Matt Shanline scored on a groundout in a four-run first inning. Cesar Espino singled home Jacob Deda and Fernando Fernandez. Espino scored on a passed ball for a 4-0 lead.

Hoisington answered with a two-run first inning. Bieberle scored on Haxton's groundout. Aylward singled home Cole Steinert for a 4-2 score. Juctice Tatro scored on Shanline's fourth-inning sacrifice fly for a 5-2 lead.

PRATT 16, HOISINGTON 3 (G2) – Hoisington's Quentin Boxberger singled twice and drove home a run. Aylward an Specht scored runs in a three-run fifth inning. Leyton Haxton and Specht each singled.

Pratt's Fernando Fernandez and Jacob Deda each drove home three runs. Shanline drove home two runs. Matthew Hook, Greyson Mandel and Max Younie also drove home runs.
