HOISINGTON BOYS 70, PLAINVILLE 53

HOISINGTON – Hoisington won the battle of the Cardinals with the Plainville Cardinals with a dominating 70-53 basketball victory Tuesday.

Drew Nicholson scored 20 points, Ryan Woydziak scored a career high 17 points and Mason Haxton added 15 points and six assists for Hoisington. Hoisington (7-8) earned the victory, vital for a top four seed in the Kismet 3A substate.

Plainville (10-6) was paced by Jared Casey with 35 points, nine rebounds and three assists.

PLAINVILLE GIRLS 49, HOISINGTON 35

HOISINGTON – Plainville’s Aubree Dewey was unstoppable with a 31-point night to spark the visiting Cardinals past Hoisington 49-35 in Tuesday’s non-league basketball game. Plainville iced the game the game with a 9-0 scoring run in the fourth quarter.

Hoisington (5-10) was sparked by Kelsi Dalton with 12 points and Suzanna Schneider with nine points. Hoisington trailed 24-17 at halftime and 34-28 after three quarters.
