HOISINGTON 27, PRATT 19
PRATT – Hoisington back Mason Alderdice sparked the Cardinals with a pair of touchdown runs and a crucial interception at the 1-yard line in a 27-19 Central Kansas league football victory over Pratt. 2A Hoisington (5-0, 1-0 District) travels to Lakin (4-1, 2-0 District) next week.
Alderdice scored on an opening 17-yard touchdown run keyed by Brayden Stevenson’s block. Alderdice handed the Cardinals a 21-19 lead on a dazzling 73-yard run on the first play after Pratt’s Max Younie scored on a 31-yard run for a 19-14 Pratt lead. Jason Robinson scored on a 1-yard run for Hoisington’s other touchdown.
Alderdice preserved a 21-19 lead with a goal-line interception. The Cardinals got a break when Pratt’s first-down run to the 2-yard line was nullified on a penalty.
Hoisington quarterback Tony Moore sealed the victory on a 7-yard touchdown run.
Hoisington’s Robinson also intercepted a pass. Brady Reif had six tackles and four assists while Ian Smith contributed three tackles and seven assists.
