MACKSVILLE 38, KINSLEY 22

KINSLEY — Macksville passed its first test of the season at Kinsley. Macksville Ryan Kuckelman passed for three scores and rushed for two touchdowns in a 38-22 Central Prairie League football victory over Kinsley.

Kuckelman completed seven passes for 120 yards and rushed 30 times for 155 yards. He scored on 9- and 70-yard runs. Hector Gomez caught 15- and 60-yard scoring passes and rushed for 143 yards and a 36-yard touchdown. Orion Guevara scored on a 19-yard touchdown pass. 

Ervey Triana had nine tackles and six assists. Macksville intercepted two passes.

Kinsley's Cason Lemuz scored on a 23-yard pass from Peyton Schmidt and on a 46-yard run. QB Peyton Schmidt scored on a 5-yard run,

HOISINGTON 56, LYONS 6

LYONS – Hoisington’s Teron Kraft and Chase Steinert each scored two touchdowns as the Cardinals roared past Lyons 56-6 in Friday’s Central Kansas League football game. Quarterback Tony Moore dashed for a 48-yard touchdown and completed an 8-yard scoring pass to Ian Smith.

Back-up quarterback Layton Haxton hooked up with Mason Alderdice on a touchdown pass to end the half up 41-6. Kraft and Rhen Galla scored second-half touchdowns.

LA CROSSE — La Crosse QB Caden Morgan threw for 315 yards and accounted for eight touchdowns in a 57-12 Central Prairie League football victory over Central Plains. Morgan scored on a 66-yard interception return and added 41 yards rushing and two scores.

La Crosse's Bryce Conner and Devyn Braun each scored two touchdowns and Gage Burk caught a touchdown pass. Conner had nine receptions for 98 yards.

Central Plains (0-2) was sparked by Blaine Hickel with 87 yards and a pair of touchdown runs. Hickel and Hunter Klima each accounted for six tackles and an assist.

JOHNSON CITY – Ellinwood tailback Bryan Jaske scored three touchdowns and a 2-pointer as the Eagles rolled past Stanton County 42-0 Friday in a non-league football game. Ellinwood quarterback Drew Heinz completed a 20-yard touchdown pass to Koy Behnke and a 50-yard TD strike to Cooper Hosman to open the scoring.

Drake Hosman added Ellinwood’s final touchdown.

ROZEL — Pawnee Heights tailback Jimmy Gardner scored on 2- and 25-yard touchdowns in a hard-fought 70-26 loss to Tescott in 6-man football Friday. Pawnee Heights Tiger Dakota Ryan scored on a 35-yard touchdown. Davin Hamby completed a 35-yard touchdown strike to Leighton Munk. The Tigers drop to 1-2.

Tescott’s Nate Ehlers scored five touchdowns and gained 217 yards. Blake Green gained 140 yards with four scores. Carter Peters converted two touchdowns with 184 yards. Tescott (3-0) gained 535 yards rushing on 46 carries.

HUTCHINSON — Stafford QB Dylan Gantz rushed for two touchdowns and passed for two touchdowns in a hard-fought 28-22 victory over Hutchinson Central Christian.

Gantz rushed for 51 yards and passed for 199 yards. Colson Minks had 99 yards receiving and a score. Jimi Oleson caught a TD pass.

Stafford (3-0) was sparked by Cody Knoche with two interceptions and Oleson, Dylan Brozek and Minks also intercepted passes.
