ELLINWOOD — No. 1 singles Audrey Manry and No. 2 doubles Ava Mull-Ella McNett placed first and the Indians won the team title at Tuesday’s Ellinwood Tennis Invitational. Larned (25) won a tiebreaker with Greeley County (25) by winning 65 percent of its games.

Manry (4-0) defeated McPherson Elyria’s Shelby Bontrager 6-1 for first place. Mull-McNett (3-0) defeated Greley County’s Payton Walk-Kalli Knobbe, 6-0 for first place.

Greeley County’s No. 2 singles Josey Schmitt defeated Hutchinson Trinity’s Harper Cain, 6-3.

Greeley County’s No, 1 doubles Kyra Nolan-Karlyn Woelk defeated Ellinwood’s Taryn Robl-Monica Hammeke, 6-5 (7-5) in a tiebreaker for first place.  Robl-Hammeke (1-2) placed second by finishing 16-15 in games played.

Ellinwood coach Tyson Revell said No. 2 doubles Daphne Doll-Madisyn Schloctermeier (0-3) showed progress and went deeper into their matches to make them competitive.
