LHS runner-up at home tennis

LARNED – Larned’s No. 2 singles Ella McNett captured first place, but the Indians were edged 34-32 by Cimarron for the team title at Thursday’s Larned tennis invitational. Mc-Nett downed Kiowa County’s Liberty Gilkey 7-6 (7-1) for first place.

Cimarron beat Larned’s players at the other three spots. Cimarron’s No. 1 singles Emily Goetz beat Larned’s Abby Holt 6-0 for first place. Cimarron’s No. 1 doubles Keira Buchholz/Amanda Housman edged Larned’s Sarah Manry/Reese Watkins, 7-6 (9-7) in a tiebreaker for first place. Cimarron’s Zoey Jantz/Paslie Werth defeated Larned’s Arianna Hemken/Breanna Hemken, 6-4 for first place.
