Local kids qualify for national meet

The Central Kansas Cruisers had 25 athletes qualify for the USATF Jr. Olympic National Track and Field Championship in Wichita on August 27-31.  
They competed in Lawrence on July 8-10.
Individual qualifiers were:  
Kate Warren —
First place in the shot put (9.17 meters) and discus (22.5), second place the in javelin (19.36).
Taryn Warren — First place in the javelin (8.51) and first place in shot put the (4.63).
Isaac Mountain — Second place in the 1500 meter run (six minutes, six seconds) and third place in the 800 run (3:07).
Keely Wolf — First place in the 400 dash (1:31) and second in 800 run (3:39).
Regan Dunn — First place in the 1500 run (5:54) and second place in the 800 run (3:05).
Damon Harrell — First place in the 100 dash (13.87) and first place in the 200 dash (28.93).
Kaleab Wilson — Fourth place in the 1500 dash (5:18).
Relays qualifing were:  
11- and 12-year-old girls 4x800  (Jade Mountain, Hannah Showalter, Sydney Bangert, Bailey Bangert), second place.
11- and 12-year-old boys 4x800 (Anthony Oberle, Peyton Schwartz, Kaleab Wilson, Gavin Dunn), first place.
11- and 12-year-old boys 4x400 (Kerby Depenbusch, Mason Doll, Sam Ringering, Anthony Oberle), second place.
9- and 10-year-old boys 4x400 (Jordan Mountain, Carter Goldston, Damon Harrell, Luke Wondra), first place.
Eight-and-under boys 4x400 (Isaac Mountain, Xander Phillips, Luke Womack, Regan Dunn), first place.
Eight-and-under girls 4x400 (Alaina Straub, Isabel Mai, Tiyani Rollins, Keely Wolf), second place.
