SALINA — Continuing pool-play this morning, the Great Bend Chiefs take on the Lawrence Raiders in 19-and-under action at 9 at Dean Evans Stadium, site of the Kansas Grand Slam Wood Bat Tournament.

The Chiefs, who are 6-16 overall, meet the Topeka Golden Giants at 1:30 this afternoon in their second game of the day.

Lawrence is 2-1 thus far in the tournament, and Topeka is 1-2.

Great Bend, 0-2 in the tourney, lost a narrow opener on Thursday, falling to the Wichita Aces, 5-3, before getting run-ruled by Columbus (Neb.) Cornerstone in five innings, 9-1.

The Chiefs were idle on Friday.
