CLAFLIN – Central Plains’ No. 1 singles Peyton Ryan, No. 2 singles Camden Stiles (21-5) and the doubles teams of No. 1 Paxton Dody/Peyton Dody (20-6) and No. 2 Nethan Cauthon/Alden Metro (22-4) finished 3-0 in Monday’s Claflin Quad tennis tournament. The Dody brothers rallied from a 5-0 deficit to edge Ellinwood's Ty Hammeke/Evan Ringwald for the first-place medal.

The Oilers scored a perfect 30 points by winning 12 consecutive matches. The Oilers compete at 3-1A regionals Thursday and Friday at Ellsworth. Ryan (24-0) is a 2-time 3-1A state runner-up.

"The meet was a good confidence-builder for our guys heading to regionals," said Oiler coach Michael Ryan.

Ellinwood’s No. 1 singles Cole Ringwald, No. 2 singles Grey Ringwald and No. 1 doubles Ty Hammeke/Evan Ringwald all finished runner-up to Central Plains in Monday’s Claflin Quad tennis tournament.
