Panther bowlers roll past Demons

DODGE CITY – Medalists Jordan Black (684) and Paige Wagner (531) led the Great Bend Panthers to Western Athletic Conference dual bowling wins against Dodge City Thursday.

The Panther boys won 10-1 and the Panther girls won 8-3.

Panther Bryce Moore (643) placed runner-up and A.J. Roberts (612) finished third. The Panthers recorded a season-best game score of 972 led by Black (268), Roberts (258), Blake Sheets (230) and Moore (216).

The Panthers swept the games 972-714, 783-663 and 807-678. Great Bend won a Baker game 213-171 and tied the third game at 191, but won the tiebreaker. 

Great Bend's Sarah Mehlhaff (473) placed third and Shanaeia Mehlhaff (434) finished fifth.

The Panthers won two games, 664-521 and 619-569. Great Bend won two Baker games 153-131 and 156-114.

Great Bend's bowlers earned 11 of 12 possible medals. The Panther junior varsity boys won 9-2 and the junior varsity girls won 11-0.
