HOISINGTON — Hoisington’s Drew Nicholson scored 22 points in a hard-fought 62-52 Central Kansas League basketball loss to Hillsboro at the Activity Center. Mason Haxton added 12 points.
The Cardinals (6-12, 3-5) hung close, but Hillsboro used a 17-4 scoring run to start the second half. Hillsboro’s Wes Shaw scored 24 points.

NESS CITY — Central Plains Oiler Emily Ryan surpassed the 2,000-point barrier with a season high 49 points in the Oilers’ 91-9 Central Prairie League basketball victory. The No. 1 ranked Oilers (19-0) have won 103 consecutive basketball games.
Ryan finished the night on 21 of 32 field goals, five assists and six steals. Ryan has 2,042 points, moving up to 14th place with 2,042 career points. Delaney Rugan added 10 points for the Oilers, who led 55-8 at halftime.
