MACKSVILLE — The Macksville High School girls’ basketball team scored 15 points in the final quarter, but La Crosse answered with 17 points of its own to hold the lead and win on Thursday night.
Jena Clowers topped the Lady Mustangs with 17 points, including the team’s only 3-pointer. Clowers also got three steals in the game.
Yasnaya Susoeff scored five points and grabbed a team-leading seven rebounds, a mark seconded by Jennifer Roach, who also added four points.

Macksville 51,
La Crosse 43
MACKSVILLE — La Crosse led after the first quarter, 16-10, but Macksville was able to make up ground in the second half to win on Thursday night.
The Mustangs were led by Kyle Bunker, who scored 16 points. Bunker also grabbed five rebounds.
Derek Bevan, who scored seven points, led Macksville with eight rebounds.
