CENTRAL PLAINS 70, NESS CITY 36

At the Barton Hilltop Hoops Classic, the No. 1 ranked Class 2A Central Plains girls (11-0) will play Wichita Life Prep (10-0) in Friday’s 8:15 p.m. championship game.
Central Plains rolled past Ness City 70-36 in Thursday’s semifinals. Kylee Kasselman scored 18 points. Reagan Phelan scored 12 points and dished out 11 assists. Phelan had five steals and Cassidy Crites had four steals. The Oilers made 26 of 49 field goals and 14 of 18 free throws.

St. John’s Bailey Burns rescued the Tigers with back-to-back 3-pointers that boosted them past Macksville 57-55 in Thursday’s consolation game at the Barton Hilltop Hoops Classic.
The Mustangs led 52-49 when Burns hit back-to-back 3-pointers sandwiched around a free throw by Mustang Jenna Russell for a 55-53 lead. Tara Nelson added two free throws for a 57-53 lead with nine seconds left.
Burns scored a career high 31 points and Nelson added 10 points. The Tigers outscored the Mustangs 24-6 on 3-pointers behind 8 of 20 shooting.
Sophie Filbert led the Mustangs with 16 points and Emma Stimatze added nine points.

Wichita Life Prep’s R.J. Blackburn scored 15 points to lead the Fire past Moundridge 47-42 in Thursday’s semifinals at the Barton Hilltop Hoops Classic.
The Wildcats led 16-6 after one quarter, but the Fire outscored the Wildcats in the next three quarters.
Ashley Holler led Moundridge (9-2) with 18 points.
