Central Plains teams advance to semifinals

LINCOLN — The Central Plains High School boys outscored Phillipsburg 10-3 in overtime to escape with a 61-54 victory Tuesday in the Amos Morris/George Stephens Classic. The Oilers outscored the Panthers 17-10 from the free-throw line.
Michael Ryan scored five points in overtime and finished with a game-high 20 points. Layne Bieberle scored 18 points and Braeden Crites added 14 points. Central Plains (2-0) will play Plainville in Friday’s 5:30 p.m. semifinals at Lincoln High School. Plainville beat Ellsworth 81-67.
Tristan Ratzlaff led the Panthers with 10 points.

LINCOLN — Taylor Rolfs scored 21 points as Central Plains raced past Phillipsburg 55-41 Tuesday in the Amos Morris/George Stephens Classic. Central Plains outscored the Panthers 20-6 in the first period and 18-7 in the third quarter to lead 47-23. Regan Phelan added 13 points.
Central Plains (2-0) plays Ellsworth in Friday’s 4 p.m. semifinals at Lincoln High School. Ellsworth beat Plainville 61-32.
Mattison Dusin led the Panthers with 24 points.
