Ellinwood baseball loses doubleheader

CANTON — The battle of baseball Eagles swung Canton-Galva’s way in a lopsided 17-2 and 15-3 doubleheader sweep Tuesday. Ellinwood (1-11) plays Ellsworth Friday at home.

CANTON-GALVA 17, ELLINWOOD 2 (G1) – Ellinwood’s pitchers contributed nine hit-batters and seven walks in a lopsided loss. Canton-Galva’s Brayden Collins drove in three runs and Jonah Sargent, Andrew Prieb and Brayden Minson each drove in two runs.
Ellinwood’s Tyler Knop doubled home Luke Wondra and David Hammeke scored on an error in the third inning.

CANTON-GALVA 15, ELLINWOOD 3 (G2) – Canton-Galva scored seven runs in the first inning and eight runs in the second inning. Ellinwood’s pitchers contributed eight walks and three hit-batters. Keaton Littrell and Collins each drove home three runs. Nick Pearson drove in two runs.
Ellinwood’s Ryan Niles scored on Woodson Corbett’s second-inning groundout. Niles singled home Hammeke and Wondra in a two-run fourth inning.
