In a matchup between the top two bowling teams in the Western Athletic conference, Great Bend High School's teams defeated Garden City on Tuesday afternoon.
The Lady Panthers swept the Lady Buffaloes, winning all 11 points toward their WAC standings. The Panthers went 9-2.
Great Bend's girls won the top 3 individual awards, with Miranda Hejny leading the way.
The senior bowled games of 255, 225 and 193 for a dual-high series of 673.
Allie Brodrick rolled a 596, and Jessica Sterba finished with a 573 series.
The Lady Panthers entered the dual one point behind Garden City for first place in the WAC standings. With the victory, Great Bend leads the Lady Buffs 46-36.
Great Bend's boys were also in second place in the WAC heading into Tuesday's dual. The Panthers were behind 39-21.
With the points, the Panthers closed the gap to 40-30.
The Panthers had the No. 1 and No. 2 individual performances in the dual.
Hunter Gregg led all bowlers with a 633 series, rolling games of 241, 226 and 166.
Matt Black had a series of 628.
Jeff Mietler missed tying for the No. 3 spot by one pin at 543.
